Forty years ago, on 11 April 1980, United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) was adopted in Vienna, Austria. The CISG has contributed significantly to introducing certainty in commercial exchanges and decreasing transaction costs with a modern, uniform and fair regime. Today, the CISG has 92 Contracting States, including Mexico.
On 6 February 2020, Universidad Panamericana, Guadalajara, will host the first of a series of world events organized in collaboration with the United Nations Commission for International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Enactment of the CISG.
Within the framework of its 5th Conference on International Arbitration and the CISG, Universidad Panamericana, Guadalajara, will be visited by internationally renowned CISG scholars and practitioners, many of whom are Members of the prestigious CISG Advisory Council.
