Workshop

Science Leadership Programme for Doctoral Students (SLP-Doc)
Theme: Enhancing skills for effective research

Research is a systematic process aiming at contributing or discovering new knowledge. The strategy used to carry out research is generally based on the scientific method. This leads to the concept of a research cycle which involves the following steps: identification of a research area, designation of a research study, carrying out the research, analysis of the results and publication of the research results. As a doctoral student or a first time researcher, it can be overwhelming as each step requires sets of skills, experiences and knowledge.

This first Science Leadership Programme for doctoral students (SLP-Doc) workshop (in-person) aims at developing the participants in the areas of thought leadership, team development, engagement and collaboration which are important in the professional and career growth of tomorrow’s leaders. The SLP-Doc will also provide doctoral students the skills and confidence that will be helpful to enable them to be effective in research.
