I am Dr. Shukri Haji Salih, Dean of the College of Agriculture Engineering Sciences (CAES) at the University of Duhok. I'm thrilled to welcome you to my academic portfolio website.
My journey in agriculture began in 1996, when I earned my Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sciences – Plant Production from the University of Duhok. Fuelled by a deep fascination with horticulture, I continued my studies, receiving both a Master's degree (2003) and a Doctorate (2012) in Agricultural Sciences-Horticulture (Pomology) from the same esteemed institution.
Since 1998, I have proudly served as a member of the teaching staff at the University of Duhok's Horticulture department. My dedication to education extends beyond the classroom. From 2016 to 2020, I held the position of Assistant Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences.
My research interests primarily lie in optimizing the production of deciduous fruit trees, particularly apple, peach, and apricot varieties. Additionally, I explore innovative techniques such as tissue culture for fruit tree propagation, efficient irrigation methods, and hydroponic systems for small fruits. I am a strong advocate for data analysis using SAS programs, ensuring a data-driven approach to research.
My work has resulted in numerous publications in various academic journals, reflecting my commitment to sharing research findings with the broader scientific community. I am passionate about fostering collaboration and continuously learning from fellow researchers and students.
Thank you for visiting my portfolio. I encourage you to explore the contents of this website to gain a deeper understanding of my academic background, research endeavours, and teaching philosophy. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to discuss potential research collaborations.
