Welcome to my academic biography, where I am excited to share my journey of academic and scientific exploration. With a strong foundation in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, I have dedicated my career to advancing knowledge and fostering excellence in education and research within the field of healthcare.
I obtained my Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology from the University of Nottingham, UK, in collaboration with the University of Duhok as a Split-Side program in 2006. Prior to this, I earned an M.Sc. degree from the University of Nottingham (UK) in 2005 and another M.Sc. degree in Immunology from the University of Salahaddin-Hawler in 1996.
As an Assistant Professor specializing in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, I am deeply committed to both my teaching duties and research endeavours. A significant portion of my time is dedicated to supervising M.Sc. and Ph.D. students, guiding them in their academic and research pursuits. To date, I have had the privilege of supervising 21 M.Sc. and Ph.D. projects, each contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge in our field.
With a solid foundation in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, my research journey has been marked by a steadfast commitment to addressing pressing health challenges and pushing the boundaries of scientific understanding. From exploring the genetic diversity of Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains to investigating the role of molecular markers in thyroid cancer, my research endeavours cover a diverse range of topics spanning infectious diseases, oncology, and immunology.
As an educator, I am driven by a passion for inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals and scientists. With over two decades of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of imparting my expertise in Molecular Microbiology, Immunology, and Oncology to undergraduate and postgraduate students alike. Whether through traditional classroom lectures, hands-on laboratory sessions, or research supervision, my goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment that nurtures critical thinking, curiosity, and a deep-seated passion for discovery.
Throughout my career, I have occupied diverse academic and scientific positions, each contributing significantly to my growth and expertise within the field. Presently, I hold the esteemed position of Vice President of the University of Duhok for Administrative and Financial Affairs, a role I have proudly held since 2018. Prior to this, I had the privilege of spearheading the Duhok Medical Research Center (DMRC) at the College of Medicine, starting from 2015.
Over the years, I have been honoured to receive recognition for my contributions to academia and research. From publishing in prestigious journals to delivering presentations at international conferences, my work has garnered acknowledgment for its scientific rigour and impact. As the Chief of the Medical Research Center, I am steadfastly dedicated to collaborating with colleagues to prioritize and execute research projects that align with the scientific objectives of the College of Nursing (CNUR).
