Despite the clear importance of this process, the University of Zambia students still face several challenges when it comes to clearing courses at the end of the academic year, specifically, they are still expected to queue up in front of lecturer’s offices, forms are required to request cleared of any obligations. Furthermore, many students do not reside on campus and will have to often commute to complete the process, which can be even more tedious when a student is also concerned about departing from campus or travelling back to their hometowns. This often results in students not finishing the clearance process which in turn attracts a penalty during graduation.
This method of clearance is not only tedious for the students but also for the University lecturers as during the same period they are encumbered with grading exam papers on top of their other general responsibilities, thus the constant coming and goings of students wishing to be cleared becomes very disruptive to their work.
Our project aims at having a user friendly and efficient means of course clearing by students. Data can be processed with great speed and efficiency on the end of the lecturers as there will be no use of stationary.
Furthermore, the project will create great accessibility to both students and lectures amid this Covid-19 period where physical contact should be reduced and will be of great advantage to students who don't reside in campus as they wont have commute to campus just clear up their courses
After the implementation of this project the following outcomes are expected.
A clear way of making submissions as the online form will be authenticated.
Faster and efficient course clearance by students.
Reduced spread of the pandemic(Covid-19) if not completely eradicated by the time of implementation.
Faster rate of operation and response time.
