Educational Philosophy

I believe in making a difference through teaching. I hold a humanistic approach to teaching and development. I believe in teaching students how to think, not what to think, in order for them to become self-actualized individuals. To achieve this, I help my students improve second language acquisition by boosting discourse and social interaction. I use group activities to keep students motivated and to enable them to take ownership of their language and learning objectives. I make learning fun and interactive while cultivating a community of responsible learners. My goal as a teacher is to guide and support students by helping them achieve the confidence and knowledge they need to meet and exceed their educational goals.

Teaching Experience

Currently, I am a Para-Professional Tutor IV at Clark County School District working to boost academic achievement while promoting English language literacy. I assist in providing valuable individualized assistance and instructional time to the students most in need. My objective following graduation is to serve culturally and linguistically diverse learners at all levels of English language proficiency in communities where I can make a positive and lasting impact.
