Southern Nevada Private Well Management

• Implement a management program to detect hazards associated with private wells.

• Prevent those hazards by educating, training, and supporting well owners, users, and professionals.

• Control those hazards by informing possible policy interventions, identifying barriers to well maintenance, testing, and treatment, and informing decisions about how to overcome those barriers.

Objectives

• Improve the ability of the Southern Nevada Health District to identify, address, prevent, and control environmental health (EH) hazards associated with drinking water obtained from private wells.

• Use evidence-based practices to identify and reduce drinking water hazards and improve access to safe drinking water.

• Monitor, describe, and document the effectiveness of interventions implemented to reduce hazards and improve access to safe drinking water.
