The University of Nevada, Las Vegas has established minimum requirements for all Bachelor of Science degrees. The basic requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Public Health are listed below. Additional information about the degree can also be found on the Advising Center’s home page.
To complete the Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health a student will complete:
A minimum of 120 credits
37 to 40 of the total credits are general education required courses
58 of the credits are major-specific courses
22 – 25 of the credits are electives (guidance for selection provided by the advising center staff.
A minimum of 2.75 GPA needed to be accepted into the program.
The selection of a public health concentration is encouraged. Meeting frequently with the advising center staff is highly recommended.

There were 98 Public Health online courses offered to 2,439 undergraduate students in CY 21 to CY 22.
Approximately 8% of undergraduate public health students are actively involved in SPH faculty research.
