The purpose of Project CREA:TE is to fund and support current elementary education or special education teachers to pursue a Masters of Education (M.Ed.) in Special Education and gain endorsements in (1) autism and generalist or (2) autism and early childhood special education.
The program offered through Project CREA:TE has an emphasis on preparing teachers to engage in developmentally appropriate and culturally sustaining teaching practices with autistic students. The program includes rigorous coursework taught by highly qualified faculty in the Department of Early Childhood, Multilingual, and Special Education and mentorship from faculty and peers who are invested in the professional growth and well-being of Project CREA:TE scholars.
Scholars of Project CREA:TE will receive full scholarship for their education and associated fees (e.g., textbooks, materials). This project is funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
We will post application information on our webpage when the recruitment period is open.
