Onboarding is the process of preparing new interns to work safely and successfully at their internship site. This process may include health and safety documentation, background checks, drug tests, and other site-specific requirements.
All onboarding requirements are processed through PreCheck, a secure, third-party, HIPAA-compliant system. Sentry, a subsidiary of PreCheck, reviews and verifies your health documents as part of this process. You may receive emails from PreCheck and Sentry. Check your spam folder regularly.
Please do not email onboarding documents, including health documents, drug testing, and background check information, to the internship coordinator or site supervisor. Email is not HIPAA compliant.
Due Dates:
All HCA and MHA student interns are required to complete the health packet and be fully compliant by December 1 (Spring Internships) and May 1 (Summer/Fall Internships).
All PBH and MPH student interns may be required to complete the health packet depending on the requirements of their internship project. If your internship requires it, you must submit all health documentation within two weeks of your Internship Project Proposal being approved. Because many public health internships do require the full health packet, it’s helpful to review your vaccination records early and make sure they are up to date.
Requirements: Download and complete the UNLV, SPH Health Packet.
Students must demonstrate evidence of vaccination or a positive IgG antibody titer for each of the following vaccines: TDaP, MMR, Varicella, HepB, COVID-19, and Influenza.
Additional Health Requirements include TB test (QuantiFERON Blood Test), Pre-Internship Physical, and Evidence of Health Insurance.
You may use a medical professional of your choice, but the UNLV Student Health Center is available at no cost or low cost for all enrolled students.
