TINA VO is an assistant professor in teaching and learning, specializing in science and STEM education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. An experienced educational researcher, her current work focuses on using scientific practices and crosscutting concepts to support teaching and learning of science and technology within elementary contexts. With expertise in mixed methodology, Dr. Vo’s research investigates the educational significance of: scientific models and modeling, elementary preservice teacher education, hydrological concepts, and more.

HEATHER DAHL is an assistant professor in the department of counselor education, school psychology, and human services at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Specializing in counseling and human services, her research focuses on crisis, suicide prevention and assessment, career issues in mental health practice, and qualitative research methodology.

MARGARITA HUERTA is an associate professor in the Department of Early Childhood, Multilingual, and Special Education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She specializes in providing access to quality education to students learning English as a second or other language. Her research has examined literacy integration in science inquiry lessons, pre- and in-service teacher training on working with English Learners in content-areas, and how writing facilitates language learning and conceptual understanding in science classrooms.

KENNETH (KENNY) VARNER is a professor in the Teaching and Learning Department, focusing in literacy, language, and cultural studies with an emphasis in glocality. Dr. Varner's initiatives include a cutting edge annual language teaching exchange and conference in Chile, as well as international partnerships in Germany, Croatia, Argentina, and Australia. Varner's scholarly expertise and interest center on the intersections of identity and difference in globalized contexts, with attention to the language and literacy practices of individuals and communities. Varner studied language, literacy, and culture with a focus on Critical Race Theory and culturally relevant pedagogy at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
