STEP 1: GET APPROVED FOR INTERNSHIP
Review current internship placements on the potential placements tab.
Fill out the internship interest form here.
Receive approval or denial letter from Dr. B to pursue an internship.
Create a professional resume using the career center guide.
Set up an appointment (in-person or virtual) with the internship coordinator or Dr. B to discuss how to apply to your desired internship and review your resume. Instructions on how to set up an appointment will be provided in your approval letter.
STEP 2: APPLY FOR INTERNSHIPS
Meet with the internship screener or Dr. B to identify internships you are interested in.
Use this email template to email your chosen internship placement(s).
Note: some internship placements have specific application procedures. This will be reviewed in your internship meeting.
Ensure to attach your resume (and cover letter, if required) as a PDF to your email.
Wait to hear back from internship sites. Patience is key!
STEP 3: PREPARE FOR INTERVIEWS.
Prepare for your interview by doing additional research about the organization.
What is their mission or values?
Practice interview questions can be found here. This will help you prepare for potential situation based questions.
If you want to have help with interviewing skills, check out the career website or email Dr. B.
Arrive to your interview early (5-10 minutes) and dress for success!
During your interview, ask questions that are relevant to the position. Bringing a small notebook with your list of questions can be helpful!
STEP 4: ENROLL IN CRJ 491.
If you're offered your internship, CONGRATULATIONS!
You will need to email Dr. B to receive the CRJ 491 packet that must be filled out by you and the internship site supervisor.
Once this is completed, return to Dr. B (via email or in-person). She will then grant you permission to enroll in CRJ 491.
