My Philosophy in Teaching
As a hydrogeologist and a lecturer I believe that the successful teaching is achieved by: (1) carry the excitement of the subject to students; (2) learn basic geoscience concepts; (3) Introduce the students to applying the concepts of science to the life. For the most students, the semester begins without experience how to doing geoscience and hydrogeology. I want my students to leave my classroom with hydrogeology skills that enable them to transfer the ideas to life science. I think that the effective teachers engage students by asking questions, incorporating innovative laboratories and challenging problem-solving projects, encouraging group work and including real-world examples of the principles being discussed. Conventionally, there has been a major inconsistency between how we do science and how we teach science.
