Agendas for regularly scheduled board meetings are posted 72 hours in advance of the meeting.
Agendas for special meetings are posted 24 hours in advance of the meeting.
Members of the public are always welcome to attend.
Public comment: Instructions for addressing the Board of Directors.
If a member of the public wishes to speak about an item on the agenda, a speaker sheet should be completed, including the number on the agenda item, OR if wishing to speak to an item not on the agenda, stating the topic on which s/he wishes to speak. Speaker sheets are available at the entrance of the board meeting room. The speaker sheet should be presented to the board secretary prior to the start of the meeting. Individual speakers will be allowed three (3) minutes to address the Board. The Board shall limit the total time for each agenda item to 30 minutes and the total time for each non-agenda item to 15 minutes. A member of the public wishing to place an item on the agenda should notify the University Preparation School office at least eight (8) days prior to the meeting date OR make such a request when future agenda items are addressed.
UPCS provides members of the public with reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") and the Fair Employment and Housing Act ("FEHA") to enable public participation in Board meetings and activities. Interested members of the public must contact the school to request an accommodation no later than twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the meeting.
In accordance with Education Code 35145.5, the Board cannot enter a formal discussion or make a decision on any matter not on the agenda. The Board may take action or refer to a later meeting any subject discussed in the presentation at the Board of Directors' meeting.
Board packets are available upon request in the front office 24 hours prior to the meeting OR at the meeting entrance on the day of the meeting.
