During my tenure as President of the Faculty of Agriculture Welfare Society (FAWS), I had the privilege of leading a series of impactful welfare and outreach initiatives aimed at strengthening both our faculty community and our engagement with society.
Strengthening Institutional Foundations
One of the key achievements under my leadership was the successful development and formalization of the FAWS constitution. This was drafted and subsequently approved by the Faculty Board, Senate, and Council, ensuring a strong and sustainable framework for the society’s future growth and activities.
Enhancing Staff Welfare and Well-being
Improving the welfare of staff and students was a primary focus during my presidency. Several important initiatives were introduced:
Establishment of a Healthcare Room with first aid and essential facilities for staff and students
Development of a Staff Common Room, including improved seating arrangements and commemorative displays
Organization of a two-day eye clinic for staff members
Conduct of First Aid training programs for both staff and students
Capacity-building workshops, including Tax Filing and Hands-on Generative AI training
These initiatives contributed to creating a healthier, more supportive, and professionally enriched working environment.
Community Outreach and Social Responsibility
A strong emphasis was placed on extending our impact beyond the faculty:
Contributions to religious and cultural events, including support for the Sivarathri festival
Distribution of stationery to school children, supporting local education
Organization of tree planting programs and participation in environmental awareness activities
Conduct of leprosy awareness seminars for both staff and students
These outreach activities reflect my commitment to fostering social responsibility and community engagement through the society.
Promoting Unity and Engagement
To strengthen relationships and well-being among members, several social initiatives were organized:
New Year celebrations to promote cultural harmony
Annual sports events encouraging teamwork and wellness
Welfare contributions, including support during challenging situations and relief efforts
Serving as President of FAWS has been a rewarding experience, allowing me to contribute meaningfully to both staff welfare and community outreach. The achievements during this period were made possible through the collective effort and support of dedicated members and colleagues.
I extend my sincere gratitude to all members, contributors, and collaborators who actively supported these initiatives and helped make this tenure successful.
