About IQAC-FMS&C

Internal quality assurance Cell of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce is composed of the arrangements within the institution to provide assurance of learning with people’s confidence. Internal QA is considered as the corner stone of QA in higher education at our Faculty. Everybody working in an institution must be responsible and accountable to develop the quality culture. The implementation of internal QA mechanisms would create a sense of responsibility and a new awareness of process approach throughout the institution

July

1. 10th Coordinating Meeting of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell was held in the Dean’s Office, FMS&C on 20th of June 2018 at 12PM.

2. IQAC’s 7th and 8th meeting minutes , Students’ satisfaction survey Questionnaire, Stake holder feedback form, Implemented activities based on the strategic plan 2013/2017, SLQF mapping, Follow-up actions of subject review report recommendations (BBA), Follow-up actions of subject review report recommendations (COM), and Frequently asked questions (FAQs) were approved by the senate at its 430th meeting held on 24/05/2018.

3. There was a special meeting for IR criterial coordinators at the faculty level on 20th of June 2018 at 11.30 AM. Coordinator IQAC requested persons in charge on 10 criterion for IR to concern on evidence gathering. At that meeting it was decided to present the IR report briefly at the next faculty board meeting.

4. TORs for 10 committees of the faculty were revised and placed to the senate at its 431st meeting.

1. 9th Coordinating Meeting of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell was held in the Dean’s Office, FMS&C on 2nd of May 2018.(Notes is attached here with )

2. IQAC’s 7th and 8th meeting minutes , Students’ satisfaction survey Questionnaire, Stake holder feedback form, Implemented activities based on the strategic plan 2013/2017, SLQF mapping, Follow-up actions of subject review report recommendations (BBA), Follow-up actions of subject review report recommendations (COM), and Frequently asked questions (FAQs) were placed to senate, which was held on 24th of 2018.

3. There was a presentation held on 15th of May 2018, by the SER writers (COM and BBA) at the special faculty meeting on the outlook of SER. Academic and non-academic staff members, IQAU coordinator, and IQAC members of other faculties those have experiences on field visits on program review.

4. Program Review reports on COM and BBA were submitted to the QAAC on 29th of May 2018.

5. Organizing the evidences have been in the process to encounter the site visits.

1. Special meeting was held on 18th of April to discuss the outcome of the SER draft presentation.

2. 9th Coordinating Meeting of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell was held in the Dean’s Office, FMS&C on 2nd of May 2018.

3. SER writers (COM) presented their draft report on 8th of May 2018 to check the evidences on 8 criteria.

4. TOR, FAQs on program, Students’ satisfaction survey Questionnaire, Stake holder feedback form, TORs for committees, Implemented activities based on the strategic plan 2013/2017, SLQF mapping, Follow-up actions of subject review report recommendation (BBA), Follow-up actions of subject review report recommendation (COM), Frequently asked questions (FAQs), and updated committee detail were placed to the faculty board on 9th of May 2018.

5. It was decided at the faculty meeting to present the outlook of SER to the faculty academic and non-academic staff members, IQAU coordinator, and IQAC members of other faculties those have experiences on field visits on program review. This will be held on 15th of May 2018.

6. Dean, HODs, SER writers, IQAC coordinators participated in a brain storming session held on 10th of May 2018 to finalize the graduate profile, and SWOT analysis of Departments and the Faculty.

7. Senate held on 20th of April 2018 approved the IQAC documents such as student feedback, peer review, student exist survey, , exam moderation report form, , student exit survey form, feedback form for subject.

8. IQAC, and the SER writers of the Faculty of Management Studies & Commerce will submit the final SER in the next week.

SERs (BBA &COM) are submitted to QAAC on 28th of May 2018.

  • Discussion on draft SERs was held on 7th of March from 2PM to 5 PM, and it will be continuing for further days, to finalize the PR document for submission.
  • 8th Coordinating Meeting of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell was held in the Dean’s Office, FMS&C on 6th of March 2018 .
  • SER writers had a one day write up session to prepare draft SERs for BBA and COM, on 1st of March 2018.
  • IQAC arranged everyday evening sessions to deliberate the evidences on 8 criteria from 10th of February to 28th of February 2018.

Events

Special meeting was held on 7th of March 2018, to write the report on follow-up actions for the recommendations made by the subject review via IRQUE. HODs, coordinator IQAC, SER writers’ team representative participated in this discussion, draft reports on fellow up actions for subject review on BBA and Commerce were written, and ready to place at the Faculty board meeting.

There was a presentation made by Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, on 25th of October (Wednesday ) 2017, from 10.00 to 12.PM at the Management Hall 2. All academic and non-academic staff were invited for this presentation. A detail description on program review and the standards of criteria were clearly elucidated.

Awareness workshop on IQAU was held on 11th of August 2017, in the Management Hall, to make an alertness among the staff members regarding IQAC, and IQAU. Director of IQAU: University of Jaffna , Prof.G.Migunthan was invited as resource person to this workshop.
