Our classroom offers several different centers/interest areas for our children to explore and have hands-on learning daily. The children independently choose their centers, materials, and whom they want to work with. Sometimes, they choose to work independently. The teacher's role is to support student learning, ask open-ended questions, make suggestions, and help to expand thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Writing - students develop the understanding that print is written speech, focus on letter, shape, and number formation, labeling, vocabulary/language skills, and experiments with different writing materials.
- Music/Movement - students experiment with various musical instruments, dance, listen to different types of music, expands vocabulary and language skills, strengthens phonological awareness, and interacts with others.
