Ms. Bettis is the H-Team literature and composition teacher. She also has one section for language arts. This will be her 8th year as a teacher, third at Unit 5, and first-year at Parkside! She has a strong passion for education and social justice. She will be sponsoring the Not in Our School student-led group as well as co-sponsoring Black Student Union with Mr. Henderson.

Ms. Bettis has been married since 1993! Yep, crazy. She has a son at Illinois Wesleyan University and a daughter at Heartland Community College. They are a media family as they love movies, reading, and writing. Traveling, during a normal year, is also something they enjoy. Ms. Bettis also has two Pembroke Welsh Corgis named, Max and Delilah that turned 2 in July. She looks forward to sharing her love of books and social justice with her students this year! #PythonPride
