About Hanoi Pet Rescue

After a few years of operation, Hanoi Pet Rescue group changed its name to CPAPS (Center of Pet Animal Protections and Studies) and is now running as an NGO.

Vietnam ranks second on the list of Asian countries which eat the most dog meat, following China, killing over 5 million dogs every year. In other hands, majority of Vietnamese population don't raise dogs and cats as pets, but for food and house keeping, which causes the shortage of pets welfare. A large number of pets are abandoned, beaten or stolen every day in big cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city, while the country has no regulations/ laws on pets control.

CPAPS (Pet Rescue) is one of the largest organisations working on pets rescue and studies in Vietnam. They claim to rescue 3000-5000 cats and dogs a year and provide them with proper shelters and medication before finding them new homes.
