Who are J4JH?

About Us

Dear UNIS Community,

We are the students in J4JH at the United Nations International School (UNIS). Mrs. Jessica Hiebl is our grade 4 teacher.

During our Semester 1 Humanities unit, (Why does geography matter?) we heard about the terrible typhoons, cyclones and hurricanes that have been happening in the Philippines and around the world. To learn more about the Philippines, we invited Emma's Lola and Grandma, and Chloe's dad to Zoom in with us so they could tell us about their experiences growing up and living in the Philippines.

After learning about the natural hazards and seeing the destruction, we decided that we would like to help. Our plan is to collect money and donate it to the Philippines Red Cross.

To raise money we decided to make interesting “How to…” videos and publish them on our class website. For example, you can learn how to cook apple crumble, wrap a present, make a pot holder and much, much more.

We really would love and appreciate your help in any way so we can help the citizens in the Philippines affected by the typhoons to rebuild their lives. So please go and check out our videos, and please consider donating to the Philippines Red Cross via our website from now until Friday 23 April, 2021. We can all be an active force in shaping a better world.

Sincerely

Emmanuella, Margret and all the students in J4JH at The United Nations International School

4/24/2021- Please note we are no longer taking donations through our website. If you would like to donate to the Philippine Red Cross, please visit their website.
