Abstract: The project core concerns the design of new plasmonic nanoporous materials capable to select and efficiently adsorb the virus providing its identification and quantitative evaluation by multi-messenger vibrational spectroscopy. The combination of nanotechnology and high-sensitivity vibrational spectroscopy opens the way to a cost-effective alternative to existing monitoring techniques. in occupational workplaces.

Abstract: The project proposes an innovative approach for the air-quality monitoring, discriminating VOCs and airborne pathogens dangerous for human health. In particular, the main project goal is to fabricate novel nanostructured metal oxide materials capable to adsorb efficiently and selectively specific VOCs and/or pathogen, providing their quantification through a combination of multi-messenger high-sensitivity THz/IR vibrational spectroscopy and electrical sensing.
