Delivery and assessment
Teaching language
All instructional activities, study materials, seminars, and group work will be conducted exclusively in English.
Attendance
Regular attendance at program classes is obligatory, with a minimum attendance requirement of 75% of the total number of course hours. Participants failing to meet this minimum attendance requirement will be disqualified from the course. Participants who are unable, for valid reasons, to attend all the course modules within a given academic year and whose absenteeism surpasses the 75% threshold may be granted an opportunity for re-enrollment to compensate for the missed hours during the subsequent academic year. Such re-enrollment is subject to approval by the Educational-Scientific Board.
While the 2024-2025 a.y. is not started yet, feel free to have a look at the latest edition's calendar (2023-2024), showing the distribution between in person and remote activities. An update of the calendar is expected to be published in January 2025.
Delivery methods
The programme is delivered from February (Year 1) to January of the following year (Year 1+1), with internships starting in July (Year 1). It relies on a dynamic learning environment, with six main types of delivery methods.
The program employs a diverse range of delivery methods carefully selected to provide a comprehensive and immersive learning experience.
1. Lectures
Purpose: Impart essential information, knowledge, and theoretical foundations
Description: In lectures, participants receive key insights and foundational knowledge crucial to their understanding of the subject matter.
2. Keynote Seminars
Purpose: Facilitate contributions from industry representatives, tutors, and practitioners
Description: Keynote seminars encourage active participation, enabling participants to articulate concepts, ideas, and questions while engaging in discussions that challenge their knowledge from various industrial perspectives.
3. Small Groups Work
Purpose: Develop collaborative and communication skills, foster networking, and encourage mutual support for learning.
Description: Through small group work, participants engage in collaborative exercises, enhancing their ability to work together, communicate effectively, and learn from one another.
4. Hands-on Workshops
Purpose: Involve participants in solving real-world problems, using dedicated tools to deepen their understanding of specific subject matter
Description: Hands-on workshops provide participants with practical experience, allowing them to tackle real-world challenges and develop a deeper cognitive understanding through the application of specialized tools.
5. Assignments
Purpose: Validate learning through the submission of assessments
Description: Assignments require participants to demonstrate their comprehension and application of course material, ensuring that they have effectively grasped the content.
6. Innovation Project
Purpose: Develop and refine technical, organizational, communication, and project management skills
Description: Participants engage in a 4-month internship within participating companies, working on projects aligned with program topics. These internships may be individual or team-based, enabling participants to maximize project impact and effectiveness
It's worth noting that lectures, seminars, and group assignments benefit from the collaboration of senior experts from participating companies and entities, enhancing the practical relevance and industry perspective of the learning experience.
Assessment
Throughout the course, a range of formative and summative assessments will be conducted to offer participants continuous feedback and ample opportunities to showcase their acquired capabilities:
Formative Assessments:
Ongoing Feedback: Formative assessment techniques will be regularly employed across all modules to provide participants with feedback and gauge their learning progress.
Midterm Exam: Conducted approximately seven weeks into the first semester, the midterm exam serves as both a formative and summative assessment. It helps evaluate participants' comprehension of fundamental module topics and identifies areas where additional work is needed. The midterm exam also contributes to the final grades.
Summative Assessments:
Module Completion Assessments: Summative assessments will occur upon completion of select modules, typically involving the submission of a written report on an assignment. Assignments and corresponding summative assessments can be completed either individually or as part of small group projects.
Innovation Project Assessment: Participants' performance and development during the innovation project will be evaluated by their company supervisor. Assessment will cover four key areas: application and integration of knowledge, problem-solving and decision-making, initiative and self-management, and interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Final Report and Presentation: The primary form of summative assessment for the innovation project is the submission of a final report and its presentation to the Evaluation Board.
Degree Award Criteria:
The Master's degree will be conferred upon participants based on their final mark, which is calculated by considering the following components:
Midterm Exam
Assignments
Final Report and Presentation
Assessment by the Company Supervisor
These comprehensive assessments ensure that participants have not only acquired the requisite knowledge but also demonstrated their ability to apply it effectively and excel in real-world situations.
