Marco Ducci is a PhD in Aerospace Engineering. In 2012 he started working on drone-related R&D projects involving the development of new technologies for Detect & Avoid and the assessment of the safety of drone operations. In 2016 he joined EuroUSC Italia as Director of Airworthiness and Regulatory Compliance supporting drone operators all over Europe in getting approvals through the development of relevant documentation including safety assessments based on SORA methodology. In 2018 he was appointed as CEO of the company.
Since then, he has been involved in relevant working groups including JARUS WG-SRM in charge of developing SORA, EUROCAE WG-105 and the EU Drone Experts Group. He coordinated several activities in the drone sectors including the SHEPHERD project funded by EASA to technical assess industry standards to be used as Means of Compliance for the EU regulation. He also authored the study for the TRAN Committee of the European Parliament entitled “Safe Integration of Drones Into Airspace” and regularly provides training on SORA and UAS Airworthiness at JAA-TO and EUROCONTROL Training Centers.
