Programma del Corso
Strutture Murarie di Interesse Storico e Monumentale / Structural Performance of Historical Masonry
A.Y. 2022/2023
Organization of the Course
Lessons are scheduled on Monday 2:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m in room G32 or online using Google Meet (https://meet.google.com/gwq-owvb-wfb)
The lessons of the course will be divided into:
Theoretical ex-cathedra lessons
External experts and scholars contributions to the analysis of real case studies (invitation-only reports)
Exercises
Review of examination papers

Folder Drive (under construction)
For all details of the courses see the web-page of the course
Examples of the past projects are available at the following link: https://sites.google.com/a/uniroma1.it/patriziatrovalusci/insegnamenti/esami-sm
The exam will be preventive (at least one month before) agreed with the teacher and is structured as follows.
Elaboration, individually or by groups (max three people), of a term paper relating to a complex of historical interest (subject of study in other exams already held) in which the structure of the building and the relative state of conservation (documents, surveys, photos, etc.) is described; the structural checks deemed appropriate should be indicated and the reasons underlying the choice of one or more mechanical/computational models to adopt for these checks should be discussed. Some simple structural analyses must be performed on portions of the building itself, basing on the application of the Principle of Virtual Works. The preparation of a Power-Point like presentation (15-20 min), which will be discussed jointly, is required.
Presentation of the exercises indicated during the course, and possibly numerical analyzes carried out with the ALMA code, based on the information provided by the teacher (teaching material published on the teacher's personal website and Google Classroom platform).
Alternatively it is possible to carry out a written test on the topics mentioned in point II.2.

Laboratorio di Approfondimento - Scienza e Tecnica delle Costruzioni / Atelier of Structural Masonry
Inizio Lezioni
