Curriculum

In 2019 at the age of 27 he obtained a PhD in Chemical Engineering with honors and with the title of Doctor Europaeus. Contracted Professor (Computer Aided Process Control Course) from 2020 to 2022. Author of several scientific publications with over 2200 citations and a Hirsch index of 35, of the book for students Fluid Machines for the Process Industry, available on the web and of some compendium on the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors (ironmaking, steelmaking and cement production cycle).

Winner of the Minerva Award for Scientific Research III edition in 2021, in the same year he develops the program T.O.M.M.A.S.O. (The Optimization of Mixture Methane-Ammonia-Syngas Oxycombustion), from the son’s name. Winner of the Early Career Award-GRICU 2022, invited plenary lecture "Municipal solid waste and circular economy: alternative resource for the production of energy vectors and green fine chemicals" at the Ischia Congress-Centrality of Chemical Engineering congress in a changing world. Winner of the Bettersize – Particuology Excellent Article Award (15,000 CNY as prize) for his research output on iron extraction and metallic iron particles production. He collaborates with several companies in the gasification and thermoconversion of waste, for the decarbonisation of process cycles, for the production of nanocatalysts for effluent treatments and in the pharmaceutical sector, with which he carries out research contracts, European projects and degree theses.

Ranked among the World's Top 2% Scientists (Elsevier-World Ranking of Top 2% Scientists). The database has been created by a research group of Stanford University to identify all scientists who are among the top ones across all fields from 149 countries and it is recognized worldwide as a major factor contributing to determine the international stature of an academic.

He is part of the editorial board of Journal of the Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers (Elsevier) and of other 5 sector journals (Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Energies, Molecules, AIMS Environmental Science, Nanomaterials) and has been speaker and chairman also by invitation at various international conferences. Chair of 2020 International Conference of Recent Trends in Environmental Sustainability and Green Technologies (ICRTEG 2020), held in Ottawa, Canada, on October 16-18, 2020 (http://canada-acee.org/proceedings/978-1-7773850-0-2/scientific-committee) and member of Program Committee of 2022 International Conference on New Energy, Energy Storage and Power Engineering (NESP 2022), held in in Kunming, China, on July 15-17, 2022 (http://www.icnesp.com/committeeSpeaker).

In 2022 he takes up service as RTDB (tenure-track position) in the ING-IND/25 sector and begins the three-year period of transition to the role of Associate Professor (tenure-track). He got the National Scientific qualification as Full Professor in 2023

Author, moreover, of 5 industrial patents on process intensification and green syntheses (a sixth on the topic of reburn intensification for the control of NOx in the combustion chamber through an innovative geometry is in the filing phase), all extended in the EU and of which 1 in collaboration with the University of Granada (on green ironmaking) and 1 with the First Hospital of China Medical University in Shenyang, China.

Director of the research group DRACONS (DecaRbonisAtion and CO2 NanoSequestration-https: //research.uniroma1.it/dracons-decarbonisation-and-co2-nanosequestration) since 2022.

Before embarking on an academic career, he worked for small engineering companies and businesses dealing with support in the design, control and maintenance of fluid machines (mainly compressors and centrifugal pumps and reciprocating piston compressors) and pressurized fluid transport lines in different industrial sectors, mainly hard-to-abate.

Since 2018 he is a founding member of the innovative startup of Sapienza GEEG s.r.l. (https://www.geeg.it/).
