Notes:
The Femicides dataset covers the years 2006–2022 and includes two distinct measures: All Femicides—which encompasses all gender-based killings of women—and Intimate Partner Femicides, which captures only cases where the perpetrator was a current or former partner. For each municipality and year, the dataset provides binary variables (dummies) for both measures, coded as 1 if at least one femicide or intimate partner femicide occurred, and 0 otherwise. The main data source is the set of reports provided by the non-governmental organization Casa delle Donne per Non Subire Violenza.
The AVCs dataset spans 2004–2024 and provides information on the presence and location of AVCs across Italy (soon available).
Both datasets are disaggregated at the municipality level, enabling fine-grained spatial analysis and policy evaluation. We plan to update both datasets in the coming months (e.g., by adding demographic information on both victims and perpetrators).
