Fabio Giannetti is Associate Professor at Sapienza University of Rome, Department of Electrical and Energy Engineering, academic field IIND-07/D. He received his MSc in Energy and Nuclear Engineering in 2010 and his PhD in Energy Engineering in 2014.
His research focuses on two-phase thermal-hydraulic transients, reactor safety and multiphysics simulation. He develops and applies models using system codes including RELAP5/Mod3.3, RELAP5-3D, TRACE and MELCOR, complemented by sensitivity analysis and uncertainty quantification with RAVEN. Applications cover Generation III and IV reactors, water-cooled SMRs and fusion systems.
He contributes to European and national research programmes and collaborates with universities, research organisations and industry. He is a member of the Faculty Board of the PhD Programme in Energy and Environment and holds institutional, professional and editorial roles listed on the Roles & Service page.
He is author or co-author of approximately 150 indexed scientific contributions and more than 60 technical reports.
