DEUPAS is carried out in a collaboration between the University La Sapienza (Physics and SBAI Departments) and INFN Laboratories of Frascati.

Its aim is to identify a rapid strategy for the identification, detection and monitoring of airborne pathogens dispersed in the workplace. A reusable concentrator/sensor, manufactured with meso- and/or nano- porous materials, adsorbs/samples pathogens effectively and selectively. It is subsequently interrogated with THz/IR radiation for agent identification and evaluation through ultrasensitive vibrational spectroscopy.
