Hi there,
I am Associate Professor of Management and International Business at the Department of Economics & Management of the University of Pavia (Italy), where I am the local coordinator for the 2023-2025 "GRIS - Growing Resilient Italian SMEs " PRIN Project funded by the Italian Ministry of Education, and Director of the AEM Applied Economics and Managment PhD Program.
I serve as deputy director in the ESOL "Economic Socioliogy, Organization and Labor" PhD, a joint program with the University of Milan.
At the Univeristy of Pavia I am member of the "Institute for Transformative Innovation Research (ITIR)" where I chair the "ReValue Chains" Lab.
My current editorial roles are the following: Associate Editor for Review of Managerial Science; Member of the Editorial Advisory Board in the Journal of Enterprising Communities
I've been former visiting Scholar at UQ Business School (Australia), Georgia State Univeristy (US) and invited lecturer at IAE Lyon Management School (France).
I proudly co-chair the annual ENTERYNG Workshop (ENTreprenEurship Research workshop for YouNG scholars) in partnership with ECSB (European Council for Small Business).
Since 2022 I am member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Academy of Management (SIMA). I am also member of the Academy of International Business (AIB), the European Academy of International Business (EIBA) and the European Academy of Management (EURAM).
Broadly, my research interests are the following: international entrepreneurship, in particular learning processes and uncertainty-coping strategies in entering foreign countries; global value chains dynamics and the impact of Industry 4.0 on their re-configuration, entrepreneurial cognition; sustainable entrepreneurship. I am fond of qualitative methodologies for scientific inquiry.
I have been awarded the 2018 Paper of the Year for the Journal "International Business Review" and the 2020 Paper of the Year for the Journal "European Management Journal".
I am an eager tennis player learner, and enjoy listening to alternative/progressive rock and metal music.
