The 1st Symposium on Neurosymbolic Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare (NeSy4H)
The 1st Symposium on Neurosymbolic Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare (NeSy4H) invites researchers, practitioners, and clinicians to submit original and unpublished contributions addressing the design, analysis, and application of neurosymbolic artificial intelligence in healthcare.
The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence in healthcare has highlighted the limitations of purely data-driven approaches in safety-critical and regulated domains. While deep learning techniques have demonstrated remarkable performance in tasks such as medical imaging, clinical prediction, and patient monitoring, healthcare systems require additional properties, including interpretability, robustness, explicit integration of medical knowledge, and compliance with ethical and regulatory constraints.
Neurosymbolic Artificial Intelligence, combining neural learning with symbolic reasoning and knowledge representation, represents a promising paradigm to address these challenges.
NeSy4H aims to provide the first dedicated forum specifically focused on neurosymbolic approaches in healthcare, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue among artificial intelligence researchers, experts in knowledge representation and reasoning, medical informatics scholars, and healthcare professionals. Both theoretical and applied contributions are welcome, including methodological foundations, system architectures, evaluation protocols, benchmarks, and real-world healthcare use cases demonstrating the added value of hybrid neural–symbolic models.
The symposium will be held in Naples, Italy.

All submitted papers will undergo a rigorous single-blind peer-review process, conducted by at least three members of the Program Committee.
Submissions must present original, unpublished work and clearly fall within the scope of the symposium.
Evaluation Criteria
Papers will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
Scientific soundness and technical quality
Originality and novelty of the proposed approach
Relevance to neurosymbolic AI and healthcare
Clarity and quality of presentation
Reproducibility and experimental rigor, when applicable
Demonstrated impact or potential benefit for healthcare applications
Accepted papers will be published in the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series
We solicit two types of submissions:
Full papers must not be longer than 10 pages, inclusive of text, references, figures, tables, and appendices. These papers should report on novel contributions that were not published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
Extended abstracts must not be longer than 2 pages, inclusive of text, references, figures, tables, and appendices. These papers should report on early ideas and achievements that you want to share with the community and get feedback on.
Paper submitted must not be simoultaneously under review or submitted for review elsewhere whilst under consideration for NeSy4H 2026. Violating this policy on concurrent submission will be considered a significat violation of scientific ethics, and appropriate measures will be taken in such instances.
Publication will be submitted to the Springer's Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LCNS), and for this reason they must be compliant with the guidelines provided by the LCNS. Author's contribution may be prepared in LaTeX or Microsoft Word template provided at this link. Moreover, Springer encourage authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers. In addition, the corresponding author of each paper, acting on behalf of all of the authors of that paper, must complete and sign a Consent-to-Publish form. The corresponding author signing the copyright form should match the corresponding author marked on the paper. Once the files have been sent to Springer, changes relating to the authorship are not allowed.
Contributions are managed through Meteor. Please submit your paper using the following link
