"Teamwork makes the dream work." Thus, having a strong line of communication with families will help me better provide for your student.
The best method of communication would be email. My email is archera@unionsd.org. I will respond to your email within 24 hours during the workweek and 48 hours during the weekends.
Another method of communication is through ParentSquare. Classroom newsletters will be sent here. Classroom newsletters will share share a brief summary of upcoming academics and other important announcements.
I implement a Homework Lottery system. Students can win when they turn in homework. Five randomly selected students will one punch stamp each. The more you turn in your homework throughout the week, the more opportunities to win!
Math homework (in the EurekaSquared Applly book) will be assigned daily and collected the following day.
There may be other homework given throughout the week in other subject areas.
I do a separate drawing for each subject area/homework assignment.
Any unfinished classwork will also be assigned as homework.
There is technically no penalty for not turning in homework but homework reinforces classroom learning. It also helps students develop time management and responsibility.
Students can also complete online educational programs like Happy Numbers, Zearn, Lexia, or Quill for additional practice and punch stamps.
