Union University workshops are offered to teachers by teachers. Many of the 1.5 hour workshops present tech tools and include teacher-presenter classroom examples. Attendees receive Union University credit towards their step in grade.
The Future Ready Learning Summit is a full day of ed tech presented the Friday before school begins. Guest speakers and USD Tech Teacher Leaders share their EdTech successes to inspire colleagues and get the school year off to a great start.
Instructional Technology Academies are offered through Santa Clara County Office of Education. Over the course of three 1.5 hour workshops, teachers focus on an instructional strategy. Attendees receive Union University credit towards their step in grade.
The Leading Edge Certification Digital Educator (DE) is a nationally recognized certification course offered through Santa Clara County Office of Education. Over the 8-week course, participants learn how to effectively integrate technology to support the 4Cs of student learning.
The Leading Edge Certification Professional Leading Learner (PLL) is a nationally recognized certification course offered through Santa Clara County Office of Education. Over the 8-week course, participants will focus on learning about what model professional development looks like.
After School PD, offered by the ToSA team and supplemented by local guest experts, is available to Tech Teacher Leaders. These 1.5 hour sessions often highlight a particular tool and offer ideas for implementing them into the curriculum.
Teachers also have opportunities to participate in Google Hangouts. Topics have included Blogging in your Classroom and a book talk with the author of Passionate Learners, Pernille Ripp.
