Read: Have your student read to you or their siblings, on their own, read to your student, and ask them questions about what they are reading.
-Facts about what happened in the story as well as questions about why they think certain things happened in the story (example: why do you think that character felt happy? Was there ever a time where you felt like this? ).
Write: Give students a blank piece of paper, or you can use the paper choices below. Students can write and draw about anything they choose: their family, a story from their imagination, anything they like. Practice writing sentences. Remember spacing, capitalization, punctuation. Spelling does not have to be correct but you can help them stretch words out to hear all the sounds. You can, however, help them spell sight words. Students can write and draw about anything they choose: their family, a story from their imagination, anything that interests them. If they are writing a story have them plan it out. They can use three fingers to say what happens in the beginning, middle, end before actually writing. Some students can think of more to write if they draw the picture(s) first. And we always say,"When you're done, you've just begun." Some students will work for 5 minutes and say they are done, but with writing, they can always add more to the picture or words or can revise it (just cross off revisions and use carrots ^ to add, no erasers necessary). They can work for 30 minutes at least on this. I know. I've see it.

Sight Words: Practice reading sight words with flash cards or practice spelling sight words.
Practice handwriting and forming upper and lowercase letters properly.

Practice counting to 100, counting objects, and writing numbers to 20.
If you have 2 dice or dominos, have them practice adding and write the number sentences (equations).
Give story problems for adding. Could be simple like "There were three bears in the forest and then 4 more came. How many bears are there?" Sums should be 10 or less. Have them write the equation and draw a picture to show their thinking. For math, pictures do not have to be fancy. They can just do circles.
