All About Your Teacher!
Hello Alta Vista 4th/5th graders and caregivers! My name is Mrs. Danielle Walton and I am excited to work with all of you as we learn and develop as individuals and learners this school year. I grew up in the Bay Area, in Saratoga, with my parents and 3 younger brothers, and still regularly return to my childhood home to visit my parents and their dog. I am a SJSU alumni where I earned my undergraduate degree in Child and Adolescent Development and my California Teaching Credential as well. I have been teaching for 14 years, either in 4th grade or a 4/5 combination class and I love both! My favorite subjects to teach are math (which I was actually not very good at when I was in elementary school but figured out in college) and California history.
Some things I like to do outside of school are hiking, bike rides, walking our neighborhood, scootering around with my two young boys (7 and 10 years old), and traveling to experience new places (particularly international locations but I have developed a greater love of National and State Parks recently as well). My favorite foods are ice cream, chocolate, and fresh bread!
