Sight words can be practiced for 5-10 minutes each day in the early months of first grade. While focusing on a few words each week, this daily practice will help your child learn to read.
Learning to write them is the next step which is typically a mid to end of year goal. Your child can practice writing these words by drawing them with markers in rainbow colors, drawing them with chalk on the sidewalk, tracing them in a baking sheet of sand or rice, writing them 3 times each, or building them with playdough.
