🎓NPS PTA Scholarship🎓

Did you know that PTA offers a scholarship to up to two graduating students every school year? 

It's true! 

The Northern Parkway PTA is proud to offer the Northern Parkway PTA Scholarship, an opportunity to recognize and reward two outstanding Fifth Grade students during our annual Fifth Grade Awards Ceremony. This scholarship reflects our commitment to fostering positive character development and community engagement in our students.

🎓 Who Is Eligible?
To be considered for this award, student applicants must:

• Consistently demonstrate the 3 Pillars of Character: Respectful, Responsible, Caring

• Be helpful to classmates, school staff, and their community.

• Have a parent or guardian who has an active PTA membership.
  
  

✍️ Application Requirements
Each student must submit a short essay that addresses one the following prompts:

1. Why is volunteerism important?

2. How have you volunteered during this school year?

3. What inspired you to volunteer?

4. How will you continue to make an impact in your community through volunteerism?
   
   

We believe encouraging volunteerism and advocacy at a young age plays a significant role in shaping compassionate, civic-minded individuals. This scholarship helps prepare students and families for future involvement in the PTSA as they move into middle school and beyond in the Uniondale School District.

📝 Teacher Nominations
In the event that no fifth-grade parents meet the PTA membership eligibility, teachers, administrators, and staff are welcome to nominate a deserving student in writing.

Nominations may be based on:

• Scholastic merit

• Extra-curricular participation

• Demonstrated personal need
  
  

💰 Scholarship Details
Two scholarships are available, each award is a minimum of $100.
Checks will be given to the grade-level administrator two weeks before the Awards Ceremony.

Student applications and teacher nominations are due by: The second Friday in May
