LERTA is a local incentive program established by a municipality designating a LERTA Zone in cooperation with the county and school district. A business within a LERTA Zone receives real property tax abatement on new improvements for a period of 10-years. The first LERTA in Union County was established in 2017 within White Deer Township to encourage the redevelopment of an underutilized property into a new advanced-manufacturing facility.
