As we approach the end of the year, seniors are planning what to do as graduation draws closer. Some seniors have vague plans and some have planned their graduation to the tee.
“It has settled in, and I’m very excited to graduate and move on to the next stage," said Gavin Foley.
The end of their high school career is setting in for some, but some are still in nostalgia and aren't prepared to leave this year quite yet.
“It really hasn't set in yet that I'm about to graduate, and it still feels like I have a lot more school left in me,” said Raquel Meija.
Whether it be enlisting, enrolling, or employing, our seniors are preparing for the next stage of life ahead of them.
”I'm excited to graduate and head to Northeast to dance for the Tigers and study for the medical field,” said Ella Little.
Overall, it is beginning to set in for many of us that the Class of 2025 has just nine weeks remaining at West Union.

Parents and teachers have been in question over whether school lunches are healthy for their children. Students have doubts about the food options which leads them to wanting a change in their daily diets.
School lunches nowadays are more nutritious due to the new school nutrition guidelines that took effect on July 1. West Union Attendance Center is one of the 152 schools in Mississippi with the new requirement of serving the mandatory dietary guidelines for all students and staff members. With these taken in action, the lunch ladies prioritize to follow the guidelines to ensure the wellbeing of the school.
Under the rule, certain amounts of nutrients have to be served throughout the day. Angie Higgins, a cafeteria worker, provides the required portion of food to ensure intake.
“You have to have so much grain, protein, so many fruits and vegetables. All of that goes through a system to measure it for the week,” said Higgins.
Our Cafeteria staff members are working hard to provide the best meal required by the state to ensure staff and students are well served in their daily nutritional needs.
