Using procreate, make a minimum of five perspective drawings based on architectural elements around San Francisco. You may trace two of the drawings, but the others will be drawn from observation. Publish results to your class website and Google Folder. We will discuss the assignments in (one week).
Using procreate, make a minimum of five drawings based on sites you were inspired by from our visits to the Lands End Lookout
or elsewhere. Publish results to your class website and Google Folder. We will discuss the assignments in (one week).
San Francisco’s history is deeply tied to waves of migration, from its Indigenous roots to the Gold Rush and the rise of Silicon Valley. For thousands of years, people have sought a better life here, bringing their customs and cultures to create the Bay Area’s rich diversity. Your assignment is to explore this dynamic blend of heritages through art. Using Procreate, Photoshop, and personal photos taken during your time here, create three collages that reflect and celebrate your own cultural heritage and its connection to this melting pot. You will then use these collages to create your first augmented reality experience for project 4. (one week)
Using Adobe Aero and the horizontal anchor, create an immersive augmented reality (AR) environment that animates and enhances your Project 3 results. This AR experience should be designed to be viewed in the round, offering a 360-degree exploration beyond a flat 2D space. Expand on the imagery from your three compositions or merge them into a cohesive AR world. Ensure the final composition is suitable for display on a tabletop in our meeting space, allowing users to interact with and appreciate it from all angles. Publish your AR project to the class website and your Google Folder. (two weeks)
Using Reality Composer and the face anchor, create an AR mask that speaks to your identity while you are here in San Fransisco. Consider who you were back at Union College and who you are on the streets on San Fransisco. How does your identity shifts from your internship to your friendships? Along with posting your Reality Composer AR file, make recordings of yourself using your AR mask and post it to the class folder. (one week)
Each of you will receive a printed word to create an AR experience that visually interprets its meaning. Using the image anchor in Reality Composer, you will develop static, interactive or animated elements that bring the word to life in augmented reality, encouraging creative, conceptual, and technical exploration in digital storytelling and spatial design. Try to think beyond the obvious interpretation, focusing more on metaphor and ambiguity to suggest the words meaning. Consider using elements you find while on our trip to Monterey and Santa Cruz this coming weekend. (two weeks).
Using any of the techniques we have explored, create a final project of your design. You may wish to revisit an earlier assignment or begin something completely new. Publish results to your class web-site. We will discuss the assignments on the last day of class. (two weeks).
