Conference fee

The Sexten center charges a  conference fee of 300 EUR, which covers conference rooms and coffee breaks. This will need to be paid by card or cash upon arrival. 

If you need financial support with the conference fee, please let us know by ticking the appropriate box on the registration form, and we might be able to partially offset it (we are not sure). 

There will be a conference dinner at the Bad Moos hotel. For participants staying there with the half-board package, this will be included in the hotel bill. For other participants, the cost is 60 EUR. 

Accommodation

Participants can book their accommodation directly at the Bad Moos hotel using their website: www.badmoos.it. There are three options with different prices: 

• Main hotel

• Apartments (good for sharing)

• Annex hotel (a bit cheaper)

The hotel has a spa available to guests and is next to the ski slopes. There is a ski rental shop inside the hotel.

We encourage signing up for their half-board option, which includes breakfast and dinner. While there are other restaurants in nearby villages, booking dinners at the hotel is the most convenient option. 

There is a 20% discount if you tell the hotel you're with the Astrophysics Center (code: GWS25). This is increased to a 25% discount if you book at least 70 days in advance (i.e. early November).

(Unless you're an invited participant, please do not pay until your participation is confirmed). 

You can of course also find your accommodation elsewhere and come to the main hotel just for the sessions.

Travel

The closest airport is Venice, Italy. The Sexten Center for Astrophysics organizes buses to/from Sexten and the Venice airport. This service has fixed times and a cost of 60 EUR each way and is not included in the registration fee. More information at www.sexten-cfa.eu/bus-airport. If those times don't work for you, please contact the Center (contact@sexten-cfa.eu) as they might be able to find alternative solutions.

Otherwise, we recommend renting a car (and driving through the Dolomites!). Arriving by train is possible but more complicated. The closest train station is San Candido, and then there's a public bus from there. More info here.

Ski

The conference venue is next to the ski slopes and the conference program will have appropriate breaks ⛷️. Throwing snowballs around is also a valid option.
