REGULATIONS FOR ABSTRACT AND POSTER PRESENTATION INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON HEALTH SCIENCES: DIABETES, OBESITY, AND CANCER


These guidelines establish the procedures for the submission of works to be presented in poster format at the International Symposium on Health Sciences: Diabetes, Obesity, and Cancer, to be held on June 16 and 17, 2025, at the University of Marília—UNIMAR.


Submission Deadlines

Abstract submission: until  May 30, 2025, at 11:59 PM.*

Approval results: by June 7, 2025.

Poster setup/delivery: June 16, 2025, at 8:00 AM.

Poster evaluation by the scientific committee: June 16, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.**


* Abstracts must be submitted exclusively through the event platform.

** Evaluation will be conducted by two members of the scientific committee. At least one of the authors must be present next to the poster. Absence will result in the non-receipt of the presentation certificate.




Types of Submissions

Abstracts may result from field research, literature reviews, or experience reports. Topics must relate to health sciences and preferably focus on diabetes, obesity, and cancer.


Abstract Formatting Guidelines

O resumo deverá ser elaborado nos idiomas português e inglês e poderá ter até 5 (cinco) autores. Must be written in Portuguese and English. Up to five (5) authors per abstract. Format: A4 (29.7 x 21 cm); margins: top 3 cm, bottom 2 cm, left 3 cm, right 2 cm.

Text: single paragraph, Times New Roman, font size 12, single line spacing.

Structure: introduction, objectives, materials and methods, results (even partial/preliminary), conclusion, keywords (3 to 6, separated by commas), and financial support (include all funding sources and types of scholarships such as PIBIC/CNPq, PIBITI/CNPq, CNPq, CAPES, FAPESP, UNIMAR, etc.). Do not include citations, tables, figures, graphs, or illustrations. Abstracts must not exceed 350 words.

Registration and Abstract Submission

To submit the abstract to the International Symposium on Health Sciences: Diabetes, Obesity, and Cancer, one author (and only one) must upload it as a Word document through the participant panel available on the official event website. Access can also be made via the link sent by email.

Important: All authors participating in the poster presentation must be properly registered for the event, in accordance with the published schedule.


Abstract Evaluation and Approval

The Scientific Committee will conduct a preliminary evaluation of all submitted abstracts. Approved abstracts will be authorized for presentation in poster format, and the submitting author will be notified via email, as per the schedule.

Evaluation will be strictly technical, and the committee's decision is final and non-appealable.

 

Poster Presentation

In-person participants: Posters must be set up at the pre-designated location (informed via approval email) on June 16, 2025, at 8:00 AM. Between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM on the same day, at least one author must be present next to the poster to receive the evaluation committee for the oral discussion.

Online participants: The digital poster must be uploaded to a designated platform (details in the approval email) by June 12, 2025. 

at 8:00 AM. Note: This step is mandatory to receive a certificate of presentation.

Posters must be removed on June 17, 2025, between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. After this time, any remaining materials will be discarded.


Poster Design Guidelines

Use PowerPoint or similar software. Follow Brazilian Technical Standards Association (ABNT) guideline No. 15737/2006 and the model at the end of this document. Recommended size: width 60 to 90 cm, height 90 to 120 cm. The poster must be legible from at least one meter away. Graphic design is the author's responsibility. Posters must include a support element to allow hanging on the event display panels.


Certificates

It will be available in the student portal (for UNIMAR students) or via email (for other participants).


Awards

1st place: voucher worth R$ 2,000.00 (two thousand BRL).

2nd place: voucher worth R$ 1,000.00 (one thousand BRL).

3rd place: voucher worth R$ 500.00 (five hundred reais BRL).


Registration Fees

UNIMAR students: R$ 30.00 BRL

Students from other institutions: R$ 50.00 BRL

Professionals: R$ 100.00 BRL
