Dr. Sérgio Luís Afonso, MD, PhD

Dr. Sérgio Luís Afonso holds a medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of Marília (FAMEMA), where he also completed his residency in Internal Medicine. He is a board-certified Clinical Oncologist, recognized by the Brazilian Medical Association, and holds additional specializations in Occupational Medicine and Evidence-Based Health Practices.

He earned his PhD in General Surgical Foundations with an emphasis in Oncology from São Paulo State University (UNESP), where he conducted research on targeted therapies for metastatic breast cancer.

Dr. Afonso currently serves as the Coordinator of the Oncology Hospital at the University of Marília (UNIMAR) and is also a practicing physician with the UNIMED Marília clinical team. With extensive experience in clinical oncology, he is committed to providing comprehensive care to cancer patients, with particular expertise in the treatment of breast, lung, prostate, and gastrointestinal cancers.
