Dr. Anupam Bishayee is a pharmacist and Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Cancer Chemoprevention. He currently serves as Professor of Pharmacology and Director of Research at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), United States. Internationally recognized for his contributions to research on natural products, nutraceuticals, and cancer prevention, he has authored over 320 peer-reviewed articles, 22 book chapters, and has accumulated more than 33,000 academic citations, with an h-index of 95 on Google Scholar.
His academic journey includes positions at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), NEOMED, and Larkin University. He was the founding chair of several pharmaceutical sciences departments across the U.S. and has served as reviewer and editor for high-impact international scientific journals. He has received substantial funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for studies focused on the cancer-preventive and therapeutic properties of bioactive compounds from plants such as pomegranate, grapes, papaya, and mango.
Currently, Dr. Bishayee leads undergraduate and graduate research programs and supervises master’s and doctoral students. He is involved in collaborative projects with institutions across the United States, Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia. He is an active member of editorial and scientific boards, including the International Society of Nutrition and Physical Activity on Aging, Obesity and Cancer, and the International Natural Product Sciences Taskforce.
Dr. Bishayee is a frequent presence at international conferences, having delivered over 60 invited lectures as a keynote speaker in countries such as Germany, Turkey, South Africa, India, Costa Rica, Cuba, and Canada.
