Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) is committed to carbon neutral and has participated in Low Carbon Cities 2030 Challenge (LCC2030C) organized by Government of Malaysia. The aims is to achieve reduction in carbon intensity by 45% in 2030. In addition, UniMAP also support Malaysia's commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
The elements that have been evaluated include Energy (Scope 2), Water (Scope 2) and Waste (Scope 3) and Greenery (Scope 1,2 and 3).
A commitment to achieve carbon neutrality has been established, with 10.96% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in 2023 based on a 2019 baseline. This commitment underscores the urgency of addressing climate change and the need for collective action to meet global climate targets.
