"Quantum Technology: The Next Emerging Technology"
Dr. Yap Yung Szen, a senior lecturer at Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), is a key figure in advancing quantum computing in Malaysia. Dr Yap obtained his Ph.D. in Science (Electron Spin Resonance Quantum Computing) at Osaka University. He also serves as a Special Associate Professor at Osaka University and a researcher at the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) in Singapore. He is the currently the Laboratory Manager at the Faculty of Science and works together with his team of science officers to manage and maintain the laboratories in faculty. He is also an invited researcher with Centre for Quantum Technologies, Singapore and Graduate School of Engineering Sciences, Japan. Together with these groups, he works on superconducting quantum computers.

Dr. Nasimuddin (M'2003-SM'2009) earned his M.Tech. and Ph.D. from the University of Delhi in 1998 and 2004. He served as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Delhi (1999-2003) and as an Australian Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Macquarie University (2004-2006). Currently, he is a Principal Scientist at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), A*STAR, Singapore. Dr. Nasimuddin has authored over 260 papers, holds four patents, 3 filed patents, and has edited 3 books, including a notable work on microstrip antennas. Recognized among the top 2% of world scientists in 2023 and 2024, he is a distinguished speakers, reviewers, and special sessions/conference organizers. A Senior Member of IEEE and IEEE APS, he has received awards such as the URSI Young Scientist Award (2005) and IEEE APS Exceptional Performance Reviewer accolades. He also serves as an Associate Editor for IJAP/IEEE OJAP and is actively involved with Antennas and Propagation-related journal editorial boards. He was the Chair of the IEEE Singapore MTT/AP Joint Chapter (2021-2022).
