Prof. G. Geoffrey Vining is Emeritus Professor of Statistics at Virginia Tech (). From 1999-2006, he also was the department head. He is an Honorary Member of the ASQ, a Fellow of the ASQ, a Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA), and an Elected Member of the International Statistical Institute. Dr. Vining is the author of three textbooks. Dr. Vining served as Editor of the Journal of Quality Technology from 1998-2000 and as Editor-in-Chief of Quality Engineering from 2008-2009. He has received the ASQ Shewhart Medal in 2010, and the 2015 Box Medal from the European Network for Business and Industrial Statistics (ENBIS). He also received an Honorary Doctor of Technology from Luleå University of Technology (Sweden).

Prof. Federico Mattia Stefanini, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Statistics at the Department of Environmental Science and Policy, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Milan. His research focuses on probabilistic graphical models and open-source software to support decision-making in agro-technological and environmental applications, integrating information from heterogeneous sources, including expert knowledge.
