Biomedical Signals Examples

The human heart's anatomy.

The electrocardiographic (ECG) signal is a digital representation of the heart's activity, measured as the potential difference between two electrodes placed on the chest (generally). In the example above, a 10 seconds recording of the VII (LA-LL) Einthoven's derivation is shown, both before (red) and after (blue) performing notch filtering (50 Hz) to account for network disturbance on the signal.

Frontal lobe (blue), Parietal lobe (yellow), Temporal lobe (green), Occipital lobe (pink).

Example of GSR (EDA) recording. Generally the non dominant hand is recorded to avoid alterations in the signal due to the presence of calluses.
