Full Professor at the University of Foggia, where chairs the Doctorate Program on “Innovation Management in Agricultural and Food Systems of the Mediterranean Region”.

R&D activities cover equipment implications on postharvest handling of fruits and vegetables, and non-destructive technology for assessment of quality.

As principal investigator, he has coordinated more than 20 national and International R&D multi-partner projects, specifically dedicated to fresh-cut products including QUAFETY (EC 7FP) and OFRALSER (MIUR-PON1).

Presently, coordinates SUS&LOW Project (MIUR-PRIN2017). He has organized all editions of European Short-course on Quality & Safety of Fresh-cut Produce (in Italy, Spain, Germany, Turkey, UK, and Portugal). Member of the EurAgEng, IIR, ISHS. Convener of the ISHS “11th Intnl Controlled & Modified Atmosphere Research Conference (2013)” and “6th International Symposium on Modelling in the Horticultural Supply Chain (2019)”. Author of more than 200 scientific papers on national and international journals and proceedings.
