Starting from 2020, Hassan Fazayeli is PhD student in “Management of Innovation in the Agricultural and Food System of the Mediterranean Region” at the University of Foggia (UNIFG). He is winner of a grant funded by the PON "Research and Innovation" 2014-2020 and by POC "Research and Innovation" 2014-2020 for the XXXV cycle. His research activity will focus on the application of non-destructive technologies such as VIS-NIR spectroscopy and hyper-spectral images to authenticate fruit and vegetable products obtained with sustainable production techniques. The research activities are divided into two main lines: 1. discrimination of organic from conventional products; 2. discrimination and quality assessment of products from sustainable agriculture obtained reducing agronomic inputs.

In 2019, He graduated with Master Degree in “Data Science and Analytics” from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He obtained several experiences in different data science problems, from working on structural datasets to text and image datasets. In 2019, he worked as Research Assistant in computer science laboratory in USM on a project entitled “Characterizing the Contribution of Continuous Integration Practices to Release Readiness of Software: A Data Science Approach”.

His research interests are in Image Analysis, NIR Spectroscopy, Hyperspectral Imaging, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Applications of Data Science in Food Science.
