International Joint Workshop of Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare (HC@AIxIA) and HYbrid Models for Coupling Deductive and Inductive ReAsoning (HYDRA): HC@AIxIA+HYDRA 2025
Bologna, Italy, 25-26 October 2025
Welcome to the International Joint Workshop of Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare (HC@AIxIA) and HYbrid Models for Coupling Deductive and Inductive ReAsoning (HYDRA): HC@AIxIA+HYDRA 2025
The workshop is co-located with the 28th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI 2025).
In a rapidly evolving world where AI is increasingly embedded in critical sectors, integrating advanced reasoning methods into practical applications not only enhances technological capabilities but also addresses pressing societal challenges, making this integration both useful and profoundly interesting.
The joint HYDRA and HC@AIxIAworkshop provides a unique platform for exploring the intersection of foundational AI research and practical applications across multiple domains; it also brings together the research themes of hybrid deductive-inductive reasoning in artificial intelligence (HYDRA) and the application of AI in healthcare (HC@AIxIA).
By exploring the synergies between advanced reasoning methods and their application across diverse domains, including but not limited to healthcare, the workshop aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
HC@AIxIA+HYDRA 2025 is an event in the context of the 28th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI 2025).
Have a look at the previous edition of the two series below.
HC@AIXIA: The HC@AIxIA workshop addressed the intersection of artificial intelligence and healthcare, focusing on how AI methods can support complex decision-making in medicine. Healthcare applications demand solutions integrating data-driven approaches with rich domain knowledge, such as pathophysiology, molecular biology, and clinical guidelines. This workshop emphasizes the importance of model-based and knowledge-based AI methods for addressing healthcare challenges, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient monitoring.
HYDRA: The HYDRA workshop focused on integrating deductive and inductive reasoning, two complementary approaches in artificial intelligence. Deductive reasoning relies on logical inference from explicit premises, while inductive reasoning generalizes from observations, often leveraging machine learning and deep learning techniques. HYDRA explores the potential of combining these methods to develop robust and flexible AI systems capable of reasoning in diverse contexts, both within and beyond healthcare.
